I've been a big fan of dubstep, UK dub music, however most of the scene seems very masculine sometimes.
This is the first time I tried making a dubstep-ish track, in which I sampled a speech from 1929, Madam Chiang talked about women empowerment in the context of democratic modern society.
Named the track "Mother", tried to incorporate my femininity into the genre 🙃 also wanted to pay my tribute to all the female artists who‘s been inspirational, working extra hard in this male dominated world.
跟大家分享我在Muti Music合輯裡收錄的新歌"Mother"。當初Dov1來邀約的時候說這次要來做Dub感的合輯，就想說終於可以來挑戰看看一直都很喜歡但沒機會做的dubstep曲風。
說到dub音樂的類型，整個文化場景其實很男性化。我記得第一次去倫敦的dubstep趴體時，嚇到在場居然我是唯一一個女生，才發現其實我在家聽熱愛的這些dub, UK Bass, grime等等曲風現實場景瀰漫著一個很bro的氣息。
這次剛好有機會挑戰一下，想說要來一個反差大的，想把女性感（女人味？）注入到歌曲裡面。剛好找到一段民國19年蔣宋美齡用英文在解釋，當時傳統的中國女性開始跨入民主新時代要怎麼因應改變角色等等。
歌名也被我取名為"Mother"，向那些在男性主導陽剛電子音樂世界中奮鬥的女性製作人們致敬。
